Dr. Hooper went to University of Alabama School of Dental Medicine after a stint in the US Navy, where he worked as a scrub tech on the surgery team at Treasure Island in San Francisco, California. He received a Bachelor in Sciences and a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree.

Upon graduation, he returned to his hometown of BayMinette, AL and opened his dental office in a little red turn-of-the-century house that his mother gave him as a graduation present. He has now been at the same location for 54 years, and is the only dentist a lot of people in BayMinette have ever had.

He, and wife, Gwen, had 4 children and were both active in all the various dental associations. Once they were both President of their respective State organizations. He lost Gwen after an illness of approximately 11 years.

Dr. Hooper remarried, and his wife, Toni , is his assistant and also has her own real estate company in the same building. They enjoy ballroom dancing and dance someplace at least once a week.

Dr. Hooper’s office is located at 112 W. 3rd St., straight across the street from Baldwin County Commission and a block from the Courthouse Square. The dental office is only open 2 or 3 days a week, or by appointment.
