Occupational Therapy, or OT, is a health profession or type of rehabilitation therapy that assists individuals of all ages and disabilities to restore their function and ability to return to work, play, or perform daily living activities. Occupational Therapy develops a personalized treatment program designed to help individuals maximize their functional capabilities. The primary goal of OT is to help people develop, improve, sustain or restore their independence. Occupational Therapist work with a variety of injuries and illnesses including orthopedic, neurological, psychological and developmental disabilities. Occupational Therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, sensory, visual/perceptual, and psychosocial aspects of a person’s daily tasks. Occupational Therapists give people the “skills for the job of living” so they can live their life to the fullest!
