History
Performance Heating and Cooling opened for business in June of 1993. Thomas Lyndon and Stuart Batten were co-owners of the Company. The two had worked together and been friends for several years. They first started the business by working out of a shop behind Stuart’s mother’s house. After a few months they started renting a building in Wilson and were able to hire a receptionist and a few men as installers. Through a lot of hard work and dedication their business grew and they were able to build their own building where the Company is located today at 3466 Airport Boulevard; Wilson, NC. Thomas was in charge of new construction and Stuart headed up the Service Department. Another common interest the two had was flying. Thomas was the first to get his pilot’s license, and Stuart got his shortly after Thomas. Tragically, on a Sunday Afternoon in October of 2006, Thomas and his wife were killed in a plane crash. Losing Thomas was a horrific loss for our Company and an even more devastating loss for Stuart, losing a business partner and more importantly, a friend. Our Company would not be where it is today without Thomas. All the time, effort, and dedication he put into Performance Heating and Cooling will never be forgotten. We have been fortunate to have some dedicated employees and one of those being Thomas’s brother, Michael Lyndon, who stepped up and did a great job with the Service Department. Michael is now Vice President of Sales and Service. Stuart now looks after all of the new construction. We are excited about the future of our Company and look forward to being able to help you with all of your heating and cooling needs.
