Dr. Nassri founded Palmetto Nephrology in Orangeburg in 1979 when no treatment was available in the area. He continues to serve patients in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and other counties.
Kidney disease is complex and as you just saw, we make an effort to disucss these treatments with the family as well as the patient. Kidney disease frequently involoves other diseases and we work closely with any other physicians the patient has in order to coordinate care. We also see and treat our patients when they are in the hospital.
When the kidney fails, either dialysis or transplant is required. We offer various types of dialysis in partnership with the national provider Davita. We work closely with and refer patients for kidney transplant at the regional transplant centers. In order to offer state of the art treatment, Palmetto Nephrology maintains active research programs at the dialysis clinics, the office and in the hospital.
