Welcome

White Rose Café has been a landmark in downtown Union for more than 75 years. Originally starting as a single pump gas station serving White Rose gas it has grown into the 116 seat cafe it is today. Mary, one of the owners, is a granddaughter of Joe Klenke the man who first pumped the White Rose gas all those years ago.

The menu features "home-style" food like country fried steaks, home-made soups and chili, breakfast all day along with daily and evening specials. Most of the servers have worked at White Rose since opening day so they know how to make you feel welcome.

The owners, Mary Wansing, Rick Copeland and Glenda Deffenbaugh were all born and raised in Union and have been friends forever. Kevin Deffenbaugh, Glenda's husband of more than 30 years, was born in Belleville, Illinois but moved to Missouri when they married. The four of them have managed White Rose Café for 10 years and they all agree that White Rose Café is still...

"The best place in town to bring an empty stomach".
