We often see patients in the office taking a myriad of prescription medications or a ‘pharmacopia’ of drugs. As adults we possess the (somewhat limited) ability to make our own health choices. The tragedy occurs when a child is introduced into the pharmaceutical health model. It quickly became a focussed topic one afternoon when a concerned parent called. Our friend’s child had ultimately been diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease. The copious inventory of drugs proffered was shocking. After dealing with the child’s situation, we began analyzing the drugs.
