Russell Homes has extensive experience is developing plans for additions and updating your existing home. From complete interior demolition and rebuild, to adding or updating rooms let Bill Russell assist you in meeting the challenge of renovating, updating or building an addition. He will assist you in all aspects relating to making your existing home your new home.
Where we start
Our relationship begins with a consultation at your home. This is our chance to get to know each other, and become familiar with your project, your wishes and your goals. We want you to be comfortable with who we are, and how our process works, so that we can begin building the trust and comfort needed to make a remodeling project succeed. We will explain in detail our design agreement and the steps necessary to take a project from idea to reality. Our goal is to leave with a solid understanding of what you want to accomplish, while you understand our method of accomplishing just that…
Steps of Design
The old carpenter’s adage is, “measure twice, cut once.” This is no less true when it comes to designing your project. From preliminary plans and sketches to final construction drawings, we explore all options and opportunities with you. You decide when you are satisfied, and you make the decisions on what options are right for you. Our role in design is to help guide you toward realizing your dream. We seek to show you opportunities and help you avoid common pitfalls.
Budget Reviews
Throughout our process we keep you informed of how your selections and design elements are affecting your budget. We understand that costs can change, and by documenting these changes, we hope to avoid cases of “project creep,” where costs rise to a point where the project is no longer feasible.
Construction Documents
Prior to signing an agreement to complete the project, we thoroughly review and update all plans and selections. Our documents include all needed notes and complete specifications of exactly what is included in our agreement. We also provide a schedule for the project. You will always know what you are getting, what it will cost, and how long it will take before signing a contract with us. Any changes to our agreement are always documented, keeping you aware of all aspects of your project.
During Construction
We seek to keep our projects on time and on budget at all times. You will find our team of carpenters and dedicated trades people easy to work with and eager to help solve any issues that may arise. We establish a clear communication channel so that you know who to contact and to ensure that no item is overlooked or ignored. We believe in respecting your home and your privacy, and will always keep you involved in what is happening at the project site.
