Dr. Irv Fremit

Dr. Fremit graduated from the University of Alberta School of Dentistry in 1988. He worked in Alberta before moving to Chilliwack in October, 2007. General family dentistry has been his main focus but he has extensive training in both orthodontics and implants. As general dentists, we don't always do all the work ourselves but guiding the patients to specialists for certain problems is just as important. For the last 15 years, Dr. Fremit has done fillings with no mercury. "Silver fillings have been a good technology for 150 years but they have now been replaced with better technology. You would not go into a stereo shop to buy an eight track so why would you want a filling based on old technology that contains a heavy metal toxin". Although Dr. Fremit relies on lots of TLC, he does offer oral sedation when patients request it. "I believe that a well informed patient who understands what I am doing is better able to relax when there is no mystery about what is happening. Most of my patients are completely comfortable with good freezing techniques."

Dr. Dennis Kwong

Dr. Kwong graduated from the school of Dentistry, University of Saskatchewan in 1988. After working in Ontario and Alberta he arrived in Chilliwack in 2001. In addition to being a general family dentist, Dr. Kwong has additional training and certification in sedation. Whereas most people have their dental work done under local anesthetic, some people desire to have work done in what is popularly termed "sleep dentistry." This is conscious sedation and involves the use of sedatives (a couple pills or liquid) laughing gas (nitrous oxide) and I.V. sedation. Although not technically asleep most patients rarely remember having been in the dental chair. Dr Kwong is the only dentist in this area qualified to administer I.V. sedation. This qualification is ideal for his special interests of oral surgery (removing teeth), and dental implants.
