Dr. James Chisholm moved to Timmins in 1958 and opened a practice on Pine Street. It was a solo practice with no staff. In1961, his first secretary was hired. In 1971, the 101 Mall opened and the office was relocated to the 101 Mall. Dr. David Passmore joined the practice in 1975. The Clinic was relocated and expanded in the upper level of the 101 Mall in 1981. Dr. Bill Chisholm joined the Clinic in 1994. He became a partner in the practice, when he bought Dr James Chisholm's share in 1999. Dr Linsey Yade graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2005 and worked with the practice for a couple of years. The Clinic was solely owned and operated by Dr Bill Chisholm Optometry Professional Corporation since January 1st, 2007.
The Doctors and staff are constantly updating their skills and equipment to better serve our patients. In fact, the doctors attend over 22 hours of continuing education vision and eye health lectures every year.
The clinic is fortunate to employ a knowledgeable and caring group of team members. These professionals are always eager to offer helpful tips and can satisfactorily solve most concerns. They strive to make each patient encounter a positive experience. Dr. Bill Chisholm is proud to support his staff members with continuing education opportunities. Many have obtained certification and training as Optometric Assistants, by the Canadian Association of Optometrists and must maintain their certification with at least 6 hours of annual educational courses.
Please feel free to ask any staff member for help. They are always eager to help.
