Invisalign® and ClearCorrect®:

Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® are nearly invisible teeth straightening systems that eliminate the need for the metal brackets and wires used in traditional orthodontic treatment. Both systems use a series of clear plastic trays that fit over the teeth to align them. Approximately every two weeks, the patient uses a new set of aligners which slowly move the teeth into the desired position. The aligners are removable for when the patient is eating or drinking and for when the patient is brushing or flossing their teeth. Invisalign® and ClearCorrect® are not only virtually invisible, but they are comfortable, too.

Periodontal Health:

Periodontal simply means "the tissue around the teeth" and periodontal disease is often called gum disease. As we examine your teeth, we perform a periodontal assessment where we check for gum disease and conduct an oral cancer screening. Several studies have linked periodontal disease to diabetes, strokes, low birth weight babies, and heart disease. Diabetic patients are three to four times more likely to develop chronic periodontal infections, which can impair their ability to process and utilize insulin. In addition, new evidence suggests that having gum disease may increase your risk of having heart disease. It also suggests that people with gum disease may have nearly twice the risk of having a fatal heart attack than those without gum disease. We believe that this screening assessment enables us to detect gum disease in its earliest stages, so conservative therapy can be performed before the disease is allowed to progress.
