The Mission of Wesley United Methodist Church is to make disciples for Jesus Christ through our open hearts, open minds and open doors. History and Vision: Organized in 1956 in the old Christian Church building at the corner of Trotter and New Madrid, we've been housed with the American Legion and a building at the airport before moving to our current location in 1963. In 1966 we added on to provide extra classroom and office space, and our Family Life Center was completed in 1989. We seek to become the church God wants us to be, as we nurture our members into becoming disciples for Christ, reach out to others in word and deed, and witness to the Holy Spirit's presence in our church and in our lives. Safe Sanctuaries Policy: It is the policy of the United Methodist Church and our mandate as concerned Christians the Wesley United Methodist Church is a place where everyone can feel safe. This means background checks for all who care for our children and youth (from the pastor through Sunday School teachers / helpers) and an open door policy in all classrooms with two adults in the area where children and youth are present. A complete copy of our promise is available here.

The people of Wesley United Methodist Church live in communion with Christ and connection with our local and global community. We open our hearts, minds and doors to those who need a place to feel the healing power of Christ, as well as opportunities to grow and explore a living faith. We believe that each person who comes to us bears God's image within them, and offers gifts and talents that nurture our church family and call us to serve others.
