The residential line of Guardian Generators are air cooled. These fully automatic home standby generators range in size from 8KW all the way up to 20KW. To size generator you need is based on the amount of power you want in the event of a power outage. The 8KW units can handle the basic loads in your home to get you by until the power comes back up. The 8KW units can not handle large loads i.e. air conditioners, ranges, etc. The 20KW units can basically handle a whole house or 16 circuits, depending on the load and transfer switch installed with the generator. These units run on either natural gas or propane and are hard wired next to your main service panel.

The Briggs & Stratton Empower Series Generators are air cooled. These fully automatic home standby generators range in size from 7KW all the way up to 15KW. 12- 15KW Intelligen Series
The Briggs & Stratton Intelligen Series come in 12 & 15KW sizes. These units have greater whole house transfer capabilities than the standard empower series. They have multiple load controls and stat station which allow greater loads to be put on the generator without overloading the generator. The intelligen units are air cooled and run off natural gas or propane.
