The office of McGowan-Dietz is dedicated to the fine and attentive orthodontic procedures they employ to give back to their patients a sense of wholeness and cosmetic normalcy that may have been taken from them due to accident or birth defect. The office of McGowan-Dietz utilizes and maintains the most up to date orthodontic medical procedures to treat a wide variety of dental malocclusions.
A dental malocclusion is when the teeth are misaligned in relation of the two dental arches. The upper arch or the maxilla and the lower arch (mandible) can be misaligned between the teeth and themselves, causing the malocclusion. Actually, many people don't know that they even have malocclusions unless they are severe.
The office of McGowan-Dietz recognizes three major categories of dental malocclusions, with several sub divisions for certain classifications. While correcting the problems of overbites and underbites, Doctors McGowan and Dietz also treat the condition known as 'Open Bite', a malocclusion that occurs due to vertical discrepancies. Treatments are extensive and include skeletal asymmetry and malformations as well. Treatment is provided to cover all possibilities and Doctors McGowan and Dietz will discuss with you any questions or concerns you may have about whichever surgery or oral appliance is needed.
