Meet the Staff
Janis Floreani, DDS
Dr. Floreani graduated from the University of Western Ontario dental school in 1993 after finishing two years of sciences at Laurentian University. She has been practicing in Sudbury in the same office since graduation.
Dr. Floreani is originally from Sudbury and continues to live here with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys skiing, yoga and spending time at their family cottage.
Kristen DeGurse, DDS
Dr. DeGurse earned her DDS at McGill University in Montreal in 1991 after receiving a BSc. from the University of Waterloo in 1987. Following one year of general practice in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Dr. DeGurse pursued post graduate studies at the University of Toronto receiving a Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 1994. She has been practicing in Sudbury since that time.
Dr. DeGurse is a member of the local professional community, is part of the Sudbury Emergency Dental Service and she volunteers at St. Joseph's Villa nursing home. She serves patients of all ages with comprehensive dentistry.
Dr. DeGurse is married and has two boys. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor sports including snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biking and travelling with her family.
Jacinthe Lapalme, DMD
Dr. Lapalme is a recent graduate from the University of Montreal. She decided to pursue her dream of becoming a dentist after working 11 years as a Dental Hygienist.
She grew up in the Sudbury area and is bilingual. Jacinthe loves spending time with her family, travelling, camping, skiing and all the simple pleasures of life!
Dr. Lapalme a gradué récemment de l'Université de Montréal. Elle a travaillé comme Hygiéniste Dentaire pendant 11 ans et par la suite elle a poursuivi son rêve de devenir dentiste. Jacinthe est bilingue et elle a grandit en banlieue de Sudbury. Elle adore passer du temps avec sa famille, les voyages, le camping, le ski et tous les petits plaisirs de la vie!
Becky, Office Manager
Becky has been in the dental field since graduating from Cambrian College in 1991. She is always happy to answer any questions regarding insurance, treatment options, finances, appointments, referrals or any of the office policies.
Becky and her husband live in Sudbury with their two daughters. She enjoys travelling, scrapbooking and walking her Great Dane.
Nancy-Jo, Registered Dental Hygienist
Nancy has been in dentistry since graduating from Cambrian College in 1991. After assisting for 5 years, she returned to school to study dental hygiene. She is a coordinator for the Sudbury Dental Hygiene Society and enjoys continuing education to further benefit her patients.
Nancy enjoys educating patients on how to prevent disease so that they can enjoy a strong, healthy smile throughout life. She has a sensitive, caring chair-side manner that her patients appreciate. As your hygienist, Nancy will encourage you to actively work toward optimal oral health, and she always gives praise when praise is due.
Nancy, her husband and 3 boys are originally from Sudbury and they enjoy the outdoors, travel and volunteering.
Tracey, Registered Dental Hygienist
Upon earning her Bachelor's degree in psychology from Queen's University, Tracey returned to Sudbury where she graduated from Cambrian College as a licensed Dental Hygienist.
During her 19 years as a Dental Hygienist, Tracey has worked in orthodontic, periodontal and family practice. Tracey maintains her professional portfolio by attending continuing education courses at a local and provincial level. Tracey volunteers as St. Joseph's Villa nursing home where she provides dental hygiene services for its residents.
Tracey enjoys skiing, reading, kayaking, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Jayna, Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant
Jayna has been a Dental Assistant for over 20 years. She earned her Dental Assisting Diploma from Cambrian College in 1988. In 2000, Jayna obtained her level 2 certification. She regularly pursues continuing education courses so she can provide her patients with excellent care.
Jayna has lived in Sudbury all her life. She and her husband Bryan have a son and a daughter. She attends cardio classes at the gym, and likes to spend time at the cottage with her family.
Sharon, Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant
Sharon graduated in 2004 and has enjoyed working as a dental assistant in Sudbury for the past 6 years. In 2009, Sharon took a one year leave of absence from the office to teach the Dental Assisting Program. She regularly pursues continuing education to provide the best care for her patients.
Originally from Barrie, Sharon has lived in Sudbury with her husband and 2 children for the past 14 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and takes part in her children's activities. She also enjoys running and practicing yoga in her free time.
Desiree, Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant
Desiree graduated from dental assisting in 2006 from College Boreal where she has returned to further her studies in dental hygiene. Desiree enjoys working with others and making her patients feel as comfortable as possible with her optimistic attitude and caring personality.
She enjoys spending her free time with her pride and joy, her dog Pudge. Desiree loves the outdoors and spending her weekends at camp with family and friends.
Shaunacy, Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant
Shaunacy graduated from Canadore College in North Bay, and has been working as a dental assistant for 5 years. Shaunacy has worked in family, cosmetic and orthodontic practices. She values continuing education and attends courses regularly, allowing her to keep current with dental technology to provide to her patients. Her compassionate and understanding personality are an asset as a dental assistant.
Shaunacy lives in Lively with her husband, twin daughters and her husky Scout. Shaunacy loves spending time with her family. Her hobbies include walking, biking, swimming and golfing.
