Dr. Gerald Paquette has more than 40 years of clinical experience in all aspects of dentistry including a special affinity for orthodontics. He has always appreciated the importance of staying abreast of the latest advancements in technique and technology in the orthodontic field and upgrades his skills through developmental study groups annually. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in 1970 and studied crown and bridge restorative at the Pankey Institute for 5 years. He has held a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry since 1978 and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association. Dr. Paquette is an active member of the International Association for Orthodontics and has completed a course in International Straight Wire and Orthopedic Seminars. In his spare time he enjoys traveling with his wife. He is an experienced whitewater rafter and enjoys a number of outdoor recreational sports.
Dr. Norman Beland graduated with his Bachelor of Science from Ottawa University and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Western University in 1992. He did a general dentistry residency at University Hospital in London immediately after graduation and had additional training in oral surgery at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx in New York City. He has also taken numerous courses on dental implant surgery.
Dr. Beland is the current president of the Timmins Area Dental Society a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He plays recreational sports and hunts and fishes whenever he can.
Dr. Pascal Stevens graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Montreal and has been practicing at the Hollinger Dental Group for the past 4 years. He is trained in the Invisalign orthodontic system and the use of soft tissue lasers. He has an Honours B.Sc. in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. He has received an award of excellence from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He sits on the General Council of the Ontario Dental Association and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association as well as the Canadian Dental Association. Locally he sits on the Board of Directors of the Cochrane Temiskaming Extend-A-Family and Science Timmins. When not working he enjoys spending time with his wife and 6 month old daughter.
The Hollinger Dental Group currently employs 3 full-time and 4 part-time registered dental hygienists. They are highly trained and work under strict of guidelines and must meet ongoing quality assurance requirements.
Our hygienists are friendly and caring individuals who not only clean your teeth but help you to maintain your oral health through education and treatment. They will sit down with you and design a maintenance program tailored to your needs that you can easily follow at home. Hygienists are required to maintain their certification yearly through continuing education programs.
There are currently 7 dental assistants working under the direction of our 3 dentists. They are all certified by the Ontario Dental Assistants Association and must earn a specific number of credits per year through continuing education programs in order to maintain their certification.
They see to your comfort while you are in their operatory and assist the dentist with procedures. They obtain information on your oral and physical health and relay it to the dentist and take and develop the x-rays the dentist may need to make a diagnosis. An assistant is also trained in the sterilization of dental instruments as well as patient care areas.
Our office manager works behind the scenes to ensure that the staff is working effectively and has the tools they need to do the job. She also takes care of the day to day accounting.
We have one accounts receivable clerk who handles everything from collections to office
technology updates to phone call overflow. She is a patient and caring jack-of-all-trades.
It takes 3 full-time receptionists to manage the flow of patients and phone calls at our front desk. These ladies schedule appointments, greet you when you arrive for your appointment, bill, process payments, answer your questions about insurance and financing and much more. They are the smiling faces you see when you are coming and going.
