Orthodontics

We offer different types of braces to our patients. A consultation with Dr. Paquette or Dr. Stevens will determine which type is best for you. Below is a brief description of the braces we currently offer and typical treatment times.

Straight Brackets

These are the traditional metal braces. They are a system of wires and brackets and are used to correct a number of malformities from cosmetic to structural. Cross-bites, over-bites, under-bites, and crowded teeth can be corrected with straight wire brackets. When used in conjunction with an orthodontic appliance they can also widen your palate or jaw. The two types of brackets that we use are standard and self-ligating. Typical treatment time runs from 6 months to 2 years depending on your dentition.

Invisalign System

Invisalign braces are a system of clear, removable trays that are used to correct a number of malformities. They are a popular alternative to straight wire brackets particularly for adults who want to correct their smile without the look of traditional braces. The patient removes the aligners to eat and brush/floss and reinserts them immediately afterwards resulting in improved oral hygiene and treatment outcomes. Typical treatment time for Invisalign braces runs from 6 months to 1.5 years.
